8 days Uganda Safari and gorilla trekking package are ideal for those who are interested in mountain gorilla tracking, chimpanzee trekking, and a general wildlife safari. The package also includes visiting the Batwa pygmies, relaxing by the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi, and visiting the Bigodi Wetlands sanctuary, and boat cruises. By the end of the trip, you would have visited the best wildlife reserves in Western Uganda including Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Kibale Forest.
Bwindi Impenetrable forest is home to almost half of the world’s population of mountain gorillas. Apart from gorillas, it also has 119 other species of mammals, over 350 plant species, 202 butterfly species, and 346 species of birds. Bwindi stands out for gorilla trekking because it has over 14 habituated gorilla groups. It is the only park where tourists can register to take part in the gorilla habituation experience. Kibale forest on the other hand is home to 13 species of primates including chimpanzees, Colobus monkeys, olive monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, and vervet monkeys among others. Kibale is the best place to track chimpanzees in the world. Unfortunately, the park has no gorillas. Had it been the case, it would have been the most visited national park in Uganda.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is more known for standard game drives, tree-climbing lions, lion tracking, boat cruises along the Kazinga Channel, and chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge. Queen Elizabeth National Park stands out because of the remarkable scenery – a result of volcanic activity and earth movements that occurred over one million years ago. It has beautiful crater lakes, savannah plains, and underground forests like the Kyambura Gorge and the Maramagambo forest. Expect to see water bucks, hippos, elephants, crocodiles, buffaloes, antelopes, and over 600 species of birds while visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park.
